Cot Valley Hideaway

Cot Valley Hideaway currently provides flexible accommodation for up to 21 people (we’re working on opening up further spaces in the near future).

Our accommodation is designed for relaxation and comfort, making it the perfect place for families or groups to unwind and explore. Enjoy stunning views, easy access to the beach, and all the serenity you need for a memorable stay.

YHA Land's End, Cot Valley Hostel, Letcha Vean

In 2024 we purchased Land’s End YHA (also known as Cot Valley Hostel, and originally Letcha Vean House).

Despite the hostel being located in one of the most magical places in Cornwall, the accommodation was in danger of closure, in need of major refurbishment, and attracted the attention of scores of property developers.

We wanted to save the hostel so that visitors can continue to enjoy Cot Valley, and we had the idea of redeveloping one of the two buildings into modern accommodation for guests to enjoy, and turning the other building into a home for our large family.

Our goal was to create beautiful, clean, functional accommodation that visitors can enjoy whilst exploring this truly stunning landscape.

We’ve taken inspiration from Scandinavian style hostels so that guests feel comfortable and at home. You can read more about our renovation work, future accommodation, and timescales here.

Cot Valley Hideaway, provides serene low cost accommodation, inspired by our love for the natural beauty that surrounds us. Nestled near the calming sea, we wanted to create a home away from home, where families can come together and enjoy quiet moments. Every corner of this hideaway tells the story of our dedication to comfort and peace, inviting you to unwind and experience the wonders of this wild coast.

Hello – We are Ollie & Clair. We took over the site in 2024, and have spent over 18 months working hard to open up the first phase of accommodation.

Over the next five years we will be opening up further spaces, specifically tailored for individual coast path walkers and couples.

In the past we ran a smallholding with on-site guest accommodation.

We loved having guests around, and decided to take the plunge and buy the Land’s End YHA.

We wanted to create the ultimate lifestyle business, which doesn’t aim to make us rich, but can sustain our family in this highly seasonal part of the country.

We have four children attending the local school who are very lucky to grow up in this magical valley.

Since our home is very close to the visitor accommodation, and we have numerous neighbours dotted around nearby, Cot Valley Hideaway is not suitable for noisy groups or parties. We welcome peaceful and respectful guests.
